Retro Holiday Hairstyles

Retro hairstyles will always be a style trend. You can go for the Marilyn Monroe white blond sexy look with flipped up end curls or a sleek French twist like that worn by many of the old time classic movie stars. Of course, the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s were before hot rollers and such. If you wanted curly hair you either used hair pins to put it up in curls or you slept in rollers all night long.

Retro Hair Idea for Holidays

Today we have other ways to go retro. You can get short bangs then make them curl under. Cascading locks were also popular. You could also have crimped waves for a vintage look. If you chose to try a short bob, don’t forget your cat’s eye glasses. Hair was often shorter at the sides with curls to the ear, then longer hair in the back. Hair seemed to be more conservative during this time and seemed to take a lot of time to create.

Today you can go for a retro style a lot easier. You can get a light perm to give your hair a marcel wave look and of course French twists are still very popular. Pixie cuts are as fashionable today as they were decades ago. Get a hairstyle that has an Egyptian look to it and it too is a look very popular today. The hair is sleek and shiny and cut in an even bob with Cleopatra style bangs. Many hairstyles seem to return on a regular basis.
