Punk haircuts are something that are normally only tried by the younger generation but that is not to say that more mature women should attempt the look. There are actually a few older women that manage to pull of the punk look and as long as the hair is cut professionally and also colored by a hairdresser for a better look, punk hairstyles could suit you more than what you would think.

The punk hairstyle itself is very much a declaration of independence; not following the latest fashion trends and opting for something a little different certainly makes a girl stand out from the crowd! However, even the most modern and trendy of haircuts can be styled in such a way as to look more punk and one of the best examples of this is the famous singer, Rihanna.

Rihanna is known for having slightly eccentric hair every now and again and even the most fashionable graduated bob was transformed into a punk hairstyle in a couple of her music videos which just goes to show that any style can be transformed.
One of the easiest things to do is to use temporary or semi permanent hair colors to add a little something extra. Pink, blue and green are usually better for this and the hair can be then spiked up or spiked around a pony tail for a more relaxed punk hairstyle.
Any already existing style or cut can be modified to be more punk for those that are not quite brave enough to have a Mohawk or similar punk associated styles. By playing around and having a little imagination, you could just come up with a punk hairstyle that works for you!
