Is Long Hair On The Out For 2009?

With more and more celebrities opting for the shorter looks this season, it pays to ask the question of whether or not long hair really is on the out for the up and coming year. Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes and even Agynes Deyn are all going for this much shorter and almost boyish style, but is it really time to say good bye to the long locks and go for a sleeker and shorter version?

If you are great followers of Lindsay Lohan and Giselle Bundchen then the answer to that question would be a resounding no! As well as the shorter styles we are seeing on the catwalk, longer and more bohemian styles are in which is great for those that have more unforgiving face shapes.

We saw many of our favorite stars saying goodbye to the classical long locks but as well as this, we saw some of the older fashions of longer hair coming back in. Centre partings and loose waves which were in style just a couple of years back has now returned with a vengeance and some of the world’s greatest designers such as Anna Sui and also Donna Karan have opted for this look when styling their models.

With most of the women in the public eye determining fashion with the shorter and more boyish styles, the longer haired chicks are fighting back with a passion, choosing long and undulating waves over the cropped and pixie cuts. For those that are too scared to go short, there is no need to worry as long hair will soon be on the rise again!
