If you are worried about the effects that chlorine in the swimming pool might have on your hair this summer then there are a few things that you can do. There are steps that you can take to make sure that your color, state and other hair factors are not affected too much by the chlorine in the water that you are swimming in.

Before you actually dip your toes in the pool, you should try and make your hair wet by soaking it with water that is not chlorinated. When you think that the hair is like a sponge and that is absorbs the things that it touches, the more healthy water that is contained within the hair, the less that the chlorine can bother it.

Of course you can always wear a swimming cap but these are not always the most attractive things in the world! Another thing that you need to do when you are inflicting your hair with chlorine is to condition it more regularly. This means that you must condition your hair with deep conditioning products more often that you usually would. There are certain hair products that you can buy for hair that has come into contact with chlorine and it might be a good idea to invest in these. You should use conditioner everyday where possible and there are some great leave in ones that you can get your hands on. You should also try to use a really deep condition product on a weekly basis.
